Ableton Live was first unveiled in late 2001 by Ableton AG of Berlin, Germany. As the first comprehensive software application designed for performance from the ground up, it created something of a stir on its release. Based on a streamlined paradigm of discrete audio clips arranged on a grid and played back through a software mixer, Live enabled computer musicians to translate their studio creations into exciting, spontaneous live sets. Instead of just playing back their pre-recorded mixes one after another as a DJ would, musicians could use Live to freely mix and match individual elements of their tracks on the fly during a performance. Live also picked up on the elastic audio paradigm pioneered by Sonic Foundry’s ACID (among others) and took it to another level, enabling users to combine clips from different sources and automatically synchronise them. for DJStudioRemixerlike you!!
